Mallammana Pavaada (Kannada: ಮಲ್ಲಮ್ಮನ ಪವಾಡ) is a 1969 Kannada film directed by Puttanna Kanagal. The film is based on the novel "Mallammana Pavaada" written by B. Puttaswamayya.

Plot details

The female lead the film, Mallamma (Saroja Devi) is married to a dullard by her parents. While in her in-laws house, Mallamma realises that her husband has been made a dullard due to his scheming stepmother, who wants to appropriate the vast property. She educates her husband and frees him from the clutches of his stepmother and makes him realise the value of life.

This movie was remade in Hindi in 1981 as Jyothi starring Jeetendra and Hema Malini. This Movie was remade in Tamil by Bhagyaraj as Enga Chinna Rasa and then was remade in Hindi by Indra Kumar as Beta in which Madhuri Dixit played the role played by Saroja Devi and Anil Kapoor, the role played by Rajkumar.

This film was remade to Tamil as Enga Chinna Rasa (1987), to Hindi as Beta (1992), starring Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit and then to Telugu as Abbaigaru, but finally again to Kannada as Annayya, starring Ravichandran and Madhubala
