Malik Ishaq
Malik Ishaq (born 1959- ) is a leader of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, a group involved in attacks on Shia in Pakistan. In 1996, Ishaq, along with Akram Lahori and Riaz Basra, was a founder of the Deobandi militant organization Lashkar-e-Jhangvi.[1] Malik Ishaq, had been detained for the last three years was released recently.[2]
Early life
Ishaq was born at Taranda Sawaey Khan in Rahim Yar Khan district of Punjab, Pakistan. His father Ali Ahmad Awan was a cloth merchant.[3]
Terrorism
Malik Ishaq, is co-founder of a Sipah-e-Sahaba breakaway group also linked with Al Qaeda and the Taliban had told in Oct 1997 that he was involved in the killing of 102 Shias.[4]
