Makalidurga
Makalidurga is a hill fort situated at the village by the same name. It is 60 km from Bangalore and 10 km after Doddaballapura on the way to gauribidanur. The fort at the summit has an old temple of Shiva with Nandi and it is believed that Markandeya Rishi performed penance here.

From atop the Fort a scenic view of the railways station and the track can be seen.
Cleaning initiatives
Bangalore Trekking Club & Doddaballapur Forest Department recently cleaned the hill by bringing 13 bags of garbage weighted 75 kg. The collected Garbage has been sent to garbage recycle plant.

Makalidurga is well connected by train and bus route.Frequent buses are available from bangalore to gauribidanur you need to get down after doddaballapur. railway station is available near by with the same name.
