Maiden Holdings
Maiden Holdings Ltd., (NASDAQ: MHLD) is a Bermuda based holding company with insurance subsidiaries[1] that provides specialty reinsurance products for the global property and casualty market. The company has operating subsidiaries in the United States (Maiden Re,[2] Maiden Specialty[3]), Europe (Maiden International[4]), and Bermuda (Maiden Insurance[5]).
Milestones
- 2010 - Acquisition of GMAC International Insurance Services, Ltd.’s reinsurance business by Maiden Holdings, Ltd.[6]
- 2008 - Maiden Holdings acquired GMAC RE and rebranded the operation as Maiden Re.[7]
- 2007 - Maiden Holdings, Ltd. was formed in Bermuda.[8]
- 2005 - GMAC RE created the Dedicated Financial Trust.[9]
- 1999 - MIC RE, as part of GMAC Financial Services, was rebranded GMAC RE.
- 1990 - Motors Insurance Corporation (MIC) formed MIC RE through the acquisition of Motors Re Management Corporation (MRMC).
- 1986 - MRMC expanded its reinsurance underwriting to include property and casualty treaty.
- 1983 - MRMC was established and began underwriting facultative property and casualty reinsurance.
