Mahdi Zein-eddin (Persian: مهدی زین الدین) was born in 1959 in Tehran Province. Mahdi for his connection with Asadollah Madani had religious activities and always stated about role of Madani is his life. He was expelled from the high school because ha had not accepted to join the Rastakhiz Party. Therefore, Mahdi changed his field and educated in natural science. He continued his education and graduated from high school. In the acceptance test of Shiraz university, Zein-eddin got the fourth rank among those who had accepted. Mahdi was corresponded with 4 university in French and was succeed to get letter of acceptance from one of them. According to Imam Khomeini speech (returned to Iran because Iran need young people like you), Mahdi relinquished education in French university. Mahdi preferred homeland defense and was killed for his country.

Early life

Mahdi Zein-eddin was born in 11 October 1959 in a religious family in Tehran Province. His father had political activities and always resisted against Pahlavi dynasty. Also his mother was a Quaran teacher and religious woman. Mahdi was clever and for this reason he was learned Quaran without teacher and always was endeavored. All the time Mahdi helped his father and mother in life and during his times of leisure helped his father in the father’s bookshop.[1]

Mahdi for his connection with Asadollah Madani, a religious clergy and teacher for Iranian people that was killed in Mihrab and also known as the first Shahid al-Mihrab, was religious person and always stated about role of Madani is his life. He started politic cultural activities against the Shah's regime, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. He was expelled from the high school because ha had not accepted to join the Rastakhiz Party. Therefore, Mahdi changed his field and educated in natural science. He continued his education and graduated from high school and in the acceptance test of Shiraz university, Zein-eddin got the fourth rank among those who had accepted. In this time, his father was banished to Saghez therefore he gave up going to the university and continued his political activities more seriously. After a period of time, his father was banished to Fars Province once again. When 1977 revolution started, his father went to Qom secretly and also moved his family to Qom city. Mahdi and his father and other political persons continued their efforts in the revolution in Qom city. Near the end of Pahlavy's regime, lightning strike increased and many people suspended their stores. Also, Mahdi suspended his father book store but did not forsaken education. Mahdi was corresponded with 4 university in France and was succeed to get letter of acceptance from one of them. He took counsel with his friend that recently was returned from France about his university acceptance. Mahdi's friend stated that: in Paris, he visited Imam Khomeini and Imam said to them: returned to Iran because Iran need young people like you. This sentence caused Mahdi relinquishment of education in French university.[1][2]

After 1978 Revolution

After the victory of the Iranian Revolution, Mahdi joined Jahad Sazandegi and after establishment of AGIR (Sepah) in Qom, he was selected as responsible of information section. Mahdi became AGIR responsible when anti-revolutionary militants were started their political and military activities. He could pass these troubles successfully and he ended this catastrophic political era.[3]

The Iran-Iraq war had just started and at this time, Mahdi by accomplishing a short military training went to the war zones. During his presence in the battlefields of Iran-Iraq war he had the following responsibilities:

Death

Major General Mahdi Zein-eddin was killed in 18 November 1984 while he was moving from Bakhtaran to Sardasht, Khuzestan, along with his brother to detect the situation and military aspect of the war zones, he got involved with the anti-revolutionary militants and he was killed.[1]
