Maharashtra Academy of Engineering

The MIT Academy of Engineering (MIT AOE)(Formerly known as Maharashtra Academy of Engineering) at the Maharashtra Academy of Engineering and Education Research (MAEER) in Pune is an engineering college affiliated to the University of Pune, India. It was established in the year 1999. It is approved and accredited by AICTE. The college provides both Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs.[1]

Library

The MIT AOE Central Library started operation from the year 1999 with a collection in discipline like Computer, Electronics, Chemical and E&TC Engineering, Mechanical Engineering. Information Technology, MBA and MCA. Its rich collection is growing very fast in terms of books, journals and services.[3]

The library has a collection of text books, reference books, general books, journals and magazines, encyclopedia, handbooks, data sheets, bound volumes, CD-ROMs, Video Lectures, online resources and other reading material. Books are classified according to the Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme. It has excellent infrastructure to meet its requirements, all its operations are computerized using slim software and provides access to the collection through OPAC. MIT Academy Of Engineering library follows open access system that allows users a direct access to the library collection. In Addition to being the first ISO certified engineering library, it is also the first engineering library in Pune that implemented barcode technology for circulation

The built up area of the library is 9578.53 sq. ft. (905 sq. mt). The reading hall accommodates 150 students at a time. Air conditioned library has conducive atmosphere, adequately lighted infrastructure for reading. It consists of reading hall, journal section, reference section, circulation section, Stack section, Acquisition and technical section, staff room and an office for the librarian.[4]
