Mahaakshay Chakraborty

Mahaakshay Chakraborty (born 30 July 1984), also known by the nickname "Mimoh", is an Indian actor working in the Hindi film industry.^[1] He is the son of veteran film actor, Mithun Chakraborty. He debuted in the 2008 action flick, Jimmy. The film was critically panned and it was a box office flop. In April 2015 his upcoming movie is titled “Ishqedariyan"

Early life

Mahaakshay Chakraborty was born on 30 July 1984, in Mumbai.^[1] His parents Mithun Chakraborty (father) and Yogeeta Bali (mother) are actors of Hindi cinema. He did his education till 4th standard in Mumbai, Learner's Academy. And then studied in Ooty in two schools, Hillwoods and Woodside. He gave his 10th Standard Board Exams Privately in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu and then went to Los Angeles To do a 4-weeks Crash Course in Acting from The New York Film Academy {NYFA}. He also did a 4-weeks crash course in Indian Classical Dancing, Horse Riding and Kick-Boxing in Chennai. He also has done ac Acting Workshop with Roshan Taneja. He has three siblings, 2 brothers (Rimoh and Namashi) and one sister (Dishani).

Presently

Mahaakshay learns and practices Mixed Martial Arts {MMA} with Mma India and he has also finished an Online Creative Writing Course with Gotham Writers in 2014. He is also taking up Online Courses in Astronomy and Astro-Bilogy through Coursera.

Film career

Mahaakshay debuted as "Mimoh" with a lead role in the 2008 film Jimmy, playing a DJ, who is falsely accused of murder, which leads him into the crime world. He was nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. He then starred in the action flick, The Murderer, which is still waiting in cans to release.

In 2011, his first release was Haunted - 3D which was the first Indian stereo-scopic 3D horror film. The film went on to become a huge critical as well as commercial success, and was Chakraborty's first hit. In his next and latest release, Loot, he plays a boy-next-door, who has been taken to Pattaya to rob a house, although him and his crime-partners (Govinda, Suniel Shetty and Jaaved Jaffrey) end up looting the wrong house. Loot received mixed to negative reviews from most critics, and was a box office flop. He has also done Enemmy with his father Mithun Chakraborty and Sunil Shetty .

Mahaakshay will be seen in VKP' s Ishqedarriyaan which stars Evelyn Sharma. The film will be released in April 2015.
