Madou Monogatari: Hanamaru Dai Youchienji (魔導物語 はなまる大幼稚園児 Madō Monogatari Hanamaru Dai Yōchienji, translated as "Madou Monogatari: Big Kindergarten Kids") is a role-playing video game for the Super Famicom released in Japan on January 12, 1996. Hanamaru Dai Youchienji is one of the Madou Monogatari (魔導物語 Madō Monogatari) series, the characters of which were used in Puyo Puyo.
Gameplay
The gameplay is a traditional role-playing game with some unique twists. For example, there are no numerical stats. Instead, everything is represented by the character's facial expressions and sprites.[3] Mythological creatures appear in their expected locations. For example, harpies are located on mountains and attack with their singing voice.
Everything utilizes a magical element: Fire, Ice Storm, Thunder, and Bayoen. Some enemies are weaker against one particular magic attack than another.
There are only 11 spells in Madō Monogatari: Hanamaru Daiyōchienji; contrasting with the numerous amounts of spells used in Dragon Quest.[4]
