Macquarie Generation is an electricity generation company in Australia that is owned by the Government of New South Wales, and has a portfolio of generating sites using predominantly thermal coal power.

From its two thermal coal power stations and two oil-fired gas turbines, Macquarie Generation supplies approximately 11% of the electricity consumed in the National Electricity Market.[1] In early stages, Macquarie has commenced development of solar thermal power as a renewable source of energy,

Macquarie Generation is established pursuant to the State Owned Corporations Act, 1989 (NSW) and the Energy Services Corporation Act, 1995 (NSW).
