Machilipatnam Kalamkari
Machilipatnam Kalamkari is a vegetable dyed block paintings, of Kalamkari variety, over a cloth made in Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India.[1] They were used as a decorative wall hangings of the Muslim royalty of South India.
History
The Machilipatnam Kalamkari craft made at Pedana near by Machilipatnam in Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh, evolved with patronage of the Mughals and the Golconda sultanate.
