MV Methane Princess was the first LNG carrier taken into service (1964). The ship was built at Vickers shipyard, Barrow-in-Furness, for British Gas. Her sister vessel is Methane Progress.
The containment system was Conch type with a total of nine tanks.
The ship was scrapped in 1998.
