MHz Worldview is an independent, non-commercial public television network that broadcasts newscasts and other programs from around the world. It is owned and operated by MHz Networks.
MHz Worldview offers international newscasts, foreign dramas, music performances, and diversity programming, in English or with subtitles.
In December 2010, the network ceased national satellite distribution via Globecast on Galaxy 19 at 97 west, and switched to a private IPTV distributor, LTN Global Communications.[1]
The channel is available as a subchannel on several U.S. public TV stations, and also via DirecTV USA channel 2183 from the Galaxy 3C satellite located at 95 west. However, on 1 December 2010, the switch to IPTV distribution caused an outage of the network via DirecTV distribution which had derived its signal from the Galaxy 19 feed. As of 23 December 2010, the network has re-established a link and carriage has been restored for DirecTV subscribers.
Programming featured on MHz Worldview includes or has included series from Al Jazeera English, RT International, France 24 English, NHK World English, CCTV News, CCTV-9, Arirang World, Euronews, DW English, Asian News International, MAC TV, VTV4, Ethiopian Television, Kazakh TV News, RTÉ One, Taiwan Television, Jewish News One, Blue Ocean Network, Press TV, and Fuji Television.
