MBC 1 is a television channel of the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation, it is the most popular and most watched television channel in Mauritius. It was launched as the first TV channel in Mauritius on 8 June 1964.[1][2][3][4] Every Thursday, an Indian movie is telecast on MBC 1 at 8.30PM.

On November 3rd, 2013, MBC(Mauritius) introduces the MBC News Channel which airs between 7AM-6PM on MBC 1, bringing up-to-date local, regional and International News every hour including Reportages, Documentaries and much more in major Mauritian speaking language. MBC News Channel remained a block on MBC 1, from 7 AM to 6PM until January 31st, 2015 where it was removed.
