M. D. Nataraj
Dr M.D. Nataraj was the son in law of late Devaraj Urs, the ex chief minister of Karnataka. He was instrumental in establishing the iron grip of Devaraj Urs in state politics by forming the notorious "Indira Brigade" with the former Bangalore underworld don M.P.Jayaraj at its helm. Nataraj's marriage with Devaraj Urs's daughter was a love marriage and Inter caste marriage.Dr M.D. Nataraj belong to Kuruba[Shepherd] caste and Devaraj Urs belong to Arasu [Rulers] caste. Both the castes as common origin, So Devaraj Urs finally agreed for the marriage.
