Mélanie Paquin (born 1981) is a woman who won the Miss Canada competition on October 24, 2009 in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada,[1] defeating Princilia Nzamba Djombo and Catherine Boucher who were named first and second runners-up respectively.[2] Djombo spoke highly of Paquin and said they had a good time together.[3] Paquin said that winning the competition convinced her that she could achieve her goals in life.[4] Paquin was born in Abitibi-Témiscamingue,[5] but was living in Gatineau at the time of her win.[6] She had previously entered the 2007 edition of the contest and had finished second.[7] She entered the Miss Piel Dorada beauty pageant in Mexico City, Mexico in 2010.[8] She studied criminology in hopes of becoming a probation officer.[9] She works as a bartender.[10]
