Lydia Emerencia

Lydia A. Emerencia (born 1954) has been the Lieutenant-Governor of Bonaire since 2012.

Emerencia was born in Aruba; her father was from Bonaire. She received a PhD at the University of Utrecht and a PhD from the Katholieke Universiteit Nijmegen. Before becoming Lieutenant-Governor of Bonaire, she was a faculty member of the University of Aruba.

On 1 March 2012, Emerencia became the Lieutenant-Governor of Bonaire, succeeding Glenn A. E. Thodé.
