Lycorus
In Greek mythology, Lycorus or Lycoreus was a son of Apollo and the nymph Corycia.[1] After him a city was named Lycoreia (later Delphi, after Delphus, great-grandson of Lycorus). He was father of Hyamus.[2]
The name Lycoreus may also refer to:
- A companion of Amycus.[3]
- A defender of Thebes against the Seven, killed by Amphiaraus.[4]
In modern fiction, one bearer of the name is Licorus Black, wizard in Harry Potter, the first known member of the Noble House of Black.
