Lyckeby GoIF is a Swedish football club located in Lyckeby in Karlskrona Municipality, Blekinge County. The club currently plays in the Division 3 Sydöstra Svealand.[1]

Background

Lyckeby GoIF (Gymnastik- och Idrottsförening) is a sports club which was founded on 5 February 1925. There were around 40 young sports enthusiasts who wanted a local club that would involve young people in sports such as tennis, swimming, winter sports, wrestling and football. The football section is today the main activity provided by Lyckeby GoIF

Since their foundation Lyckeby GoIF has participated mainly in the middle divisions of the Swedish football league system. The club currently plays in Division 3 Sydöstra Götaland which is the fifth tier of Swedish football.[2] The club's second team, known as Lyckå FF, plays in Division 6 Blekinge östra. The club play their home matches at the Lyckåvallen in Lyckeby.[3] Since 1995 the clubhouse has been located at Lyckåvallen where there are four football fields, six changing rooms, a cafe and various storage sheds.

Lyckeby GoIF are affiliated to Blekinge Fotbollförbund.[4] The club currently has 19 teams and around 1,000 members. It is the largest club in Blekinge catering for children and youngsters with approximately 500 active members. Lyckeby GoIF are the organisers of one of the largest indoor football tournaments (for children & youths) known as the Hyundai Lyckå Cup. The competition is entered by around 200 teams from different countries and is played between 26 and 30 December each year.
