Lux Style Awards
The Lux Style Awards is an award ceremony held annually in Pakistan since 2002.[1] The awards celebrate "style" in the Pakistani entertainment industry.[2] Around 30 awards are given annually.[1]The Award ceremony is the oldest and most prominent film events dedicated to Pakistani television, fashion and film industry in Pakistan. The Awards are voted by both the public and a committee of experts.
The Lux Style Awards is considered one of the nation's premier award show events. The awards have been dubbed "Pakistan's Oscars"[1][3] and described as "'the' awards ceremony in Pakistan."[4]
History
The first awards were presented in 2002 at Expo Centre, Karachi, Pakistan. From then on the awards were held at locations around the Pakistan signifying the international success of Lollywood and Pakistan Television Industry. Since 2002 the event has expanded from one-night event to a three-days celebration, hosting various events and activities relating to the Pakistan film industry.
