Lumsden Barkway
James Lumsden Barkway was a bishop[1] in the 20th century.
He was born on 9 July 1878 and educated at Liverpool University and Westminster College, Cambridge.[2] After ten years as a Presbyterian minister his first Anglican ministry position was as a minor canon at St Albans Cathedral from where he moved to be vicar of Christ Church, Luton. Following time as rector of Little Gaddesden he was appointed the Bishop of Bedford in 1935. Three years later he was translated to be the Bishop of St Andrews, Dunkeld and Dunblane[3] where he stayed for eleven years . He died on 12 December 1968.
