Lumen Christi High School is a private Roman Catholic high school located in Anchorage in the U.S. state of Alaska, affiliated with the Archdiocese of Anchorage.
History
Lumen Christi Catholic High School was founded in the fall of 1996. It was originally open to grades 7-10, but expanded to 11th in 1997, and 12th in 1998. The school moved from its first building at 69 West Fireweed Lane in 2000 to its current location at 8110 Jewel Lake Road as a ministry of St. Benedict's Parish in Anchorage, Alaska. Lumen is an active member of the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA) and is regionally accredited by the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools, through AdvancED - which requires the highest standards of education. The school is Anchorage's Premier Catholic High School and currently serves over 85 students as of Fall 2014. It has a 12:1 student/teacher ratio. Lumen's program maintains the highest of academic standards, taught by qualified and dedicated teachers. The majority of the full time teaching staff hold Masters degrees or higher in their areas of expertise. It is a member of the Alaska School Activities Association for athletics and is classified as 1A school. Lumen Christi's mascot is the Archangel and the school's colors are Navy Blue and Silver.
Principal
Mr. John Harmon is the current Principal at Lumen Christi. Mr. Harmon attended Wheaton College and received his BA (magna cum laude) from Houghton College. He holds a MS Ed. from St. Joseph College in Maine and a JD from Capital University. Mr. Harmon is a former Associate General Counsel of a Fortune 100 Company and has a passion for education. Prior to joining Lumen Christi High School, Mr. Harmon served as the President of one of the oldest and largest private career colleges in Alaska.

For athletics (soccer, volleyball, basketball), Lumen Christi is a part of the Peninsula Conference, formerly known as Region II, District III. Recent recognition includes:

Lumen Christi has various opportunities for students, including a Drama club, and produces a dramatic production in the fall and a comedy in the spring. Previous performances include: 12 Angry Jurors (Spring 2006), Homefront (Fall 2006), Nothing but the Truth (Spring 2007), Gettysburg Canon (Fall 2007), Money to Burn (Spring 2008), Tear Along the Dotted Line (Spring 2009), Spirit (Fall 2009), The Land of the Little Horses (Spring 2010), Cinderella! Cinderella (Spring 2013).
Besides Drama and Athletics, LCHS has a Jazz Band, Ham Radio Club, and Yearbook club, which is led by Dr. Antje Carlson.
