Lumbardh Salihu (born 18 November 1992 in Vitina, Yugoslavia) is an Austrian born Albanian footballer who plays as a forward. He is currently playing for SK Austria Klagenfurt.[4]
Playing career
Salihu moved from Austria to sign a two-year contract with English League Two side Northampton Town in July 2011, along with Marin Pozgain.[5] He made his debut at Sixfields on 23 August 2011, replacing Adebayo Akinfenwa as a 77th minute substitute in a 4–0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers in a League Cup Second Round clash.[6] Manager Gary Johnson said of his debut that "He's only just come back from an injury and he's only 18 so it was one of those where we just wanted to give him a little feel for it.".[7] On 26 January 2012 it was confirmed that both he and fellow Austrian teenager Marin Pozgain had left Northampton Town by mutual consent after both had failed to make an impact, and Salihu making just 2 appearances for the club.
