Luis Stefani
Luis Stefani Raffucci was a long time Chancellor of the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez.[1]
He was born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. His father a Corsican immigrant.[1] He studied engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.[1] He was a member of Phi Sigma Alpha fraternity.[2][3]
The faculties of Agriculture, Engineering and Science were created under the direction of Don Luis Stefani.[4]
Legacy
The General Engineering building in the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez bears his name.[1] The most important award that the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez give to any graduate is the Luis Stefani Award. In the Hostos neighborhood in Mayagüez there is a street named in his honor.
