Luigi Sepe (born 8 May 1991) is an Italian footballer who plays for Serie A side Empoli as a goalkeeper on loan from Napoli.

Career

Born in Torre del Greco, the Province of Naples, Sepe made his debut for his hometown club in Serie A on 28 January 2009, at age of 17, during the match against Fiorentina, lost 2–1. He replaced Gianello in the 32nd minute. He wore no.44 in 2008–09 season.[1] He was the fourth keeper behind Gennaro Iezzo, Nicolás Navarro and Matteo Gianello.

In 2010–11 season, he was named in 2010–11 UEFA Europa League as list B member (U21 youth product), which he was the fourth keeper behind Morgan De Sanctis, Iezzo and Gianello as no.92.

International career

Sepe made a successive appearances with Italy U19 (born 1991 team) from March to September, all replaced Simone Colombi at second half, including verse Ukraine (born 1990 team).[2][3] He was the reserve keeper for Colombi at 2010 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship qualification but also played once. After Italy qualified to the next round, he did not receive any call-up again.

He also started 3 out of 4 matches for Italy U18 team (de facto the same team with U19 born 1991 team, but verse U18 born 1991 team) at U18 Slovakia International Cup, ahead Valerio Frasca in April.[4]
