Lucas Browne (born April 14, 1979) is an Australian heavyweight boxer and former mixed martial artist. He is currently undefeated as a professional boxer, and holds the WBC (Eurasia Pacific) and WBA (Intercontinental) heavyweight championships. Browne is known for his punching power and has a knockout ratio of 86.3%. He is ranked #19 in the world heavyweight rankings by Boxrec.

Professional career

From February 2009 to November 2010, Browne competed in mixed martial arts in his native country of Australia. He compiled a record of 6 wins and 2 losses. He fought one notable opponent in UFC light heavyweight contender Daniel Cormier. Browne was defeated by technical knockout by punches at 4.35 in the first round. After deciding his style was more suited to boxing, and that as he relied on his punching power in mixed martial arts to make a transition in professional boxing.

Lucas Browne turned to professional boxing in March 2009. Browne's first fight was against fellow Australian heavyweight Jason Kier. He won his debut bout by fourth round knockout. Browne fought his first notable opponent on May 13, 2011 against Northern Ireland heavyweight journeyman Scott Belshaw, winning by second round knockout. On February 17, 2012, Browne won the Australian heavyweight championship from Colin Wilson by third round knockout.

In April 2013, Browne fought former three-weight division world champion James Toney in Melbourne, Victoria. He won by unanimous decision after twelve rounds to claim the World Boxing Foundation heavyweight title. Later that year in July, he defeated Amateur boxing star and contender Travis Walker by seventh round retirement. In November 2013, he defeated future European heavyweight champion Richard Towers by fifth round technical knockout.

In April 2014, Browne became Commonwealth (British Empire) heavyweight champion by knocking out Canadian Eric Bahoeli in five rounds. On August 1, 2014, he won the World Boxing Council Eurasia Pacific heavyweight title and the World Boxing Council Intercontinental heavyweight title with a unanimous decision win over Andriy Rudenko in Wolverhampton, England. He finished the year of 2014 with a fifth round retirement win over former heavyweight contender Chauncy Welliver.
