Love Child is the second studio release by the Ann Arbor, Michigan-based band Ella Riot, formerly My Dear Disco. The band was active from 2007 to 2011 and went into hiatus in October 2011.[2] Being a studio recording and final release, Love Child is the band's second definitive work.[3] It was engineered and recorded at Mission Sound studio.[4] The band released a music video of the album's fourth track "It Could Be".[5] AllMusic characterized the music as pop, influenced by funk, techno and house, and called the band's approach original. The review called the last track's collision of guitars and bagpipes "a welcome bit of inspired lunacy".[1]
