Louisiana State Route 92 (LA 92) was one of the 98 original state highways that were established in 1924. It was split into two distinct segments, splitting in Plaucheville, with the Plaucheville-Morrow section running in a south to north direction for 17.90 miles (28.81 km), and the Plaucheville-Cottonport section running for 6.30 miles (10.14 km) in a west to east direction. The original LA 92 segment from Plaucheville north to Moreauville ran in a south to north direction for 6.80 miles (10.94 km).

Morrow-Plaucheville
LA 92 began at an intersection with LA 1/US 71, turning east then north to enter Avoyelles Parish. LA 92 then followed Bayou Jack to Plaucheville, where it met the second segment of LA 92.

The second segment of LA 92 began at an intersection with LA 30 in Cottonport, where it followed Bayou Chopique to meet the first segment of LA 92.
