Louisiana State Route 60 (LA 60) was one of the 98 original state highways that were established in 1921. It ran in a south to north direction for 17.30 miles (27.84 km), spanning from Cote Blanche Bay to LA 2.
Route description
Beginning at Centerville, through Bayou Sale, South Bend to Cote Blanche Bay. - 1924 Louisiana Legislative Route Description
LA 60 was designated as a short route, connecting Centerville to points south. Starting at an intersection with LA 2/US 90, LA 60 followed Bayou Sale through the marshes, providing access to Cote Blanche Bay. It served no true purpose as a route, other than providing access to oil fields and small communities.
