Louisiana State Route 55 (LA 55) was a state highway in Louisiana. It spanned 38.28 miles (61.61 km), serving northwest Louisiana, spanning from Shreveport to the Arkansas state line.
Route description
"Beginning on the line between the States of Arkansas and Louisiana near Ida, thence through Hosston, Belcher, Dixie to Shreveport." - 1924 Louisiana Legislative Route Description
LA 55 started at an intersection with US 79/US 80/LA 4 in downtown Shreveport, then proceeded northwest towards Dixie, where LA 8 spun off towards Oil City. LA 55 continued north along the route of US 71, linking the towns of Belcher, Hosston, and Ida before ending at the Arkansas state line.
