History

Sources: [2][3][4]

Founded in 2013, the Louisiana Stars was announced on May 21, 2014 as having passed DCI's evaluation process and being one of six new or returning corps to join the DCI summer tour.

With a staff of high school and college educators and professional musicians, the corps held auditions in late January and progressed to monthly rehearsals until the end of the school year. After a camp to polish the musical and marching program, the organization planned a short tour for its inaugural season, with the unit traveling to contests in Iowa, Illinois, and Arkansas before closing out the summer tour at the show in the corps' hometown of Lafayette.

Sponsorship

The Louisiana Stars Drum and Bugle Corps is a registered non-profit 501(c)(3) musical organization and is co-sponsored by the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. The corps director is Neil Simon.
