Louisiana Highway 979 (LA 979) is a state highway in Louisiana that serves Pointe Coupee Parish. It spans 2.53 miles (4.07 km). Although the roadway runs geographically in a west/east direction, it is considered to be a north/south roadway due to it being an odd-numbered highway.
Route description
LA 979 begins at an intersection with LA 978, north of the community of Torbert. LA 979 travels northwest, following along the north bank of Bayou Grosse Tete, terminating at an intersection with LA 78 near the community of Frisco, a few miles north of Livonia.
It is an undivided, two-lane highway for its entire length.
