Louisiana Highway 949 (LA 949) was a state highway in Louisiana that served East Baton Rouge Parish. It spanned 0.94 miles (1.51 km) in a west to east direction, and was located completely within the city limits of Baton Rouge. It is known as Hyacinth Avenue.

Route description

LA 949 provided a two-lane alternative to Perkins Road, and was used as a residential road. It was formerly a portion of Perkins Road, which was realigned in 1951.

It was an undivided, two-lane highway for its entire length.

History

The state highway was established in the 1955 renumbering. The road was turned over to city control in 1960.

The entire highway was in Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge Parish.
