Louisiana Highway 454 (LA 454) is a state highway in Rapides and Avoyelles Parishes in the U.S. state of Louisiana. The route is generally U-shaped from north to south; it begins and ends at Louisiana Highway 107. The western end of the highway is at Cedar Grove and the eastern end is at Effie. At Effie, LA 107 is overlapped by LA 115.
Route description
Louisiana Highway 454 is a road that intersects Louisiana Highway 107, known as the Old Marksville Highway, in the small community of Cedar Grove in Rapides Parish, Louisiana, and heads southward towards the Red River. The highway heads southward for 4 1⁄2 miles (7.2 km) until passing through the community of Ruby. Approximately 1 1⁄2 miles (2.4 km) south of Ruby, the highway intersects Harris Ferry Road which heads southwestward towards the Red River. LA 454 turns abruptly to the southeast at this point and continues for another mile (1.6 km) before crossing over into Avoyelles Parish.[2]
After crossing into Avoyelles Parish, LA 454 continues eastward for approximately another 1 1⁄3 miles (2.1 km) before heading in a northeastward direction towards LA 107. It continues 5 1⁄3 miles (8.6 km) before it meets LA 107 and LA 115 just southeast of the small town of Effie.
