Louisiana Highway 316 (LA 316) is a state highway that serves Terrebonne and Lafourche Parishes. It spans a total of 16.9 miles (27.2 km)[1] and is known for most of its length as Bayou Blue Road.

Route description

LA 316 parallels LA 24 for its entire length between Gray and Bourg, acting as a long bypass of Houma to the northeast. All of the intersecting highways provide access to various parts of Houma along LA 24.

From the northwest, LA 316 begins at a junction with LA 24 in Gray. It proceeds briefly northeast, traveling from solely Terrebonne Parish to forming the border between Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes, before following a southeastern course along the remains of Bayou Blue. Just outside of Gray, LA 316 intersects with U.S. 90 (future corridor of I-49) at Exit 204. LA 316 continues southeast, staying on the parish line and intersects LA 182 at a point known as Savoie. A few miles afterward, it intersects LA 3087 and LA 660. Nearing the end of its route, LA 316 crosses the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway on the Bayou Blue Bridge. It then turns southward onto Company Canal Road, immediately crossing back into Terrebonne Parish, and follows the west bank of the Company Canal to a terminus at LA 24 in Bourg.

LA 316 is a two-lane, undivided highway for its entire length.
