Route description
LA 1053 begins at a junction with US 51 (3rd Street) in Kentwood. It heads westward and passes over I-55. It then turns northward to the northwestern portion of Tangipahoa Parish. It enters Mississippi on the Pike County/Amite County north–south line as MS 923.
