Route description
From the south, LA 1039 begins in Denson 0.06 miles (0.097 km) northeast of the Black Bayou Bridge. It heads eastward along Black Lake Club Road before turning northward along Bear Island Road. It ends at an intersection with LA 22 southwest of Killian.
LA 1039 is an undivided, two-lane highway for its entire length.
