Luigi "Lou" Moro (26 April 1918 – 1 October 2009) was an Italian-born Canadian professional soccer and lacrosse coach.
Early life
Luigi Moro was born in Savona, Italy on 26 April 1918; his family emigrated to British Columbia in 1929.
Career
After coaching ice hockey and lacrosse during World War II, Moro began his professional coaching career.
Soccer career
Moro was in charge of the Vancouver Whitecaps for three seasons of the North American Soccer League. He then became a coach of the Whitecaps as they continued in the Canadian Soccer League and American Professional Soccer Leagues. Moro was also a trainer of the Canadian national soccer team in 1960, and for the World Cup qualifying campaigns in 1974 and 1978.
