Lost in Thought were a five-piece melodic progressive metal band from Wales (UK). The band formed in Swansea in late 2007.
To date the band have recorded their debut album 'Opus Arise' which has been released through Inner Wound Records. The band announced in April 2013 that their 2nd album has been abandoned and Lost In Thought had come to an end announcing that the band "was pretty much torn into two halves."
History
Lost In Thought formed in late 2007 when David Grey and Simon Pike embarked on a quest to find other musicians to compose and perform progressive tinged music with and found Greg Baker and Chris Billingham. After completing their line-up with vocalist Nate Loosemore, the band recorded a demo EP early 2010 which secured them a management deal with Intromental Worldwide. After a few months in the studio recording 'Opus Arise' the band's management secured them a record deal with Inner Wound Records in Sweden. On April 10, 2013, it was announced via the group's Facebook page that Lost in Though will no longer continue due to "many underlying problems" and that the band had "hit a brick wall"[1]
Musical style and response
A new generation of Progressive Metal has been born in Wales by the up-and-coming Lost In Thought. Lost In Thought formed in late 2007 when David Grey and Simon Pike embarked on a quest to find other musicians to compose and perform progressive tinged music with. Linking with Greg Baker and Chris Billingham, they soon became a force to be reckoned with in their home of UK.
After completing their line-up with vocalist Nate Loosemore, the band recorded a demo EP early 2010, immediately grabbing the attention of well-renowned booking and management company Intromental Worldwide.
Setting out to write and record their debut album in the fall of 2010, the band realized that they had been composing 8 songs that weren’t just of “newcomer status”, but really were of as high quality as any contemporary progressive metal album out there. Sweden’s Inner Wound Recordings label recognised the talent and potential, and signed the band for a spring 2011 release.
The band's music is generally described as having something in it for fans of many genres of music, incorporating elements of music ranging from classical to metal and having dynamic vocals.
The band is currently in the studio with their new drummer Rory O'Hare who came in to replace Chris Billingham. The band re-entered the studio in 2012 to record their 2nd album, the album was abandoned.
In January 2015 - Nate Loosemore joined the Progressive Metal band 'Mystic Circus'.
