Lost Episode Festival Toronto (LEFT) is a publicly attended film festival showcasing horror, sci-fi, action, television, cult cinema, and indie film held annually in Toronto, Canada at the Bloor Cinema.[1] The festival screens a variety of feature-length and short-films as well as parody commercials and movie trailers from around the world including North America, Australia, and Europe.[2] The festival also hosts a time based film challenge where filmmakers are given just over two days to create a short film from concept to completion using provided elements such as: a prop, a line of dialogue, and a character.
Past Festivals
2013
The inaugural festival was held June 1–2, 2013,[3][4] at the Bloor Cinema[5] in Toronto, Canada. The festival showcased 1 feature presentation and 13 short films from around the world. Some of the films screened at the festival included the exclusive Canadian theatrical premiere of Star Trek Continues,[6][7] as well as BioCop by cult producers Astron-6.
2014
The 2nd annual event saw the Lost Episode Festival Toronto return to the Bloor Cinema on July 5–6, 2014. The official film lineup included the exclusive Canadian premieres of the films ANNA (aka MINDSCAPE), PATRICK: Evil Awakens, NAKED ZOMBIE GIRL, and more.[8]
