Los Angeles Virtuosi Orchestra
The Los Angeles Virtuosi Orchestra (LAV) is an instrumental ensemble based in Los Angeles, California, committed to the support and advocacy of music education in schools and the community. Its current music director is conductor Carlo Ponti.[1] The orchestra donates 100 percent of net revenues from its subscription performances to advance music education.[2]
History
Conductor Carlo Ponti founded the orchestra in December 2013.[3] The orchestra's debut was at Napa Valley Festival del Sole in July 2014.[4][5]
Composition
The orchestra currently features only strings, and consists of two sections of six violins each, four violas, four cellos and two basses.[6]
