Los Angeles is one of the 44 barangays of the municipality of Ubay, in the province of Bohol, Philippines.

The barangay's total land area is 274 hectares (680 acres).[3] According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 436. In the last election, it had 351 registered voters, meaning that 81% of the population are aged 18 and over.[2]

Los Angeles celebrates its annual fiesta on 27 April in honor of their patron saint.

Location

Located in the southwest of the municipality, Los Angeles is bounded to the north by Bulilis, to the east by barangay San Francisco, to the south by Buenavista and to the west by the municipality of San Miguel. It 21 km (13 mi) from the town center, Poblacion.

Etymology

Originally the barangay was named after the previous owner of the entire land, Lucia Angel. Over time this became the current name of Los Angeles.

Government

There are seven puroks overseen by the elected kagawads.

Economy

People in the barangay are mostly farmers who live by planting rice, taro, camote, cassava, banana, and other vegetables. Some till agricultural smallholdings. Some of the population also weave mats, and produce palm oil and coconut products.
