Lorie Garritty

Lorie Garritty is a politician and a former municipal councillor in St. Albert, Alberta.

Biography

Garritty is a teacher by profession, and was principal of St. Albert Catholic High School until October 2003.[1] He is currently administrator at the St. Albert Storefront School.[2]

He first ran for St. Albert City Council in 2004, claiming to have been inspired to do so by the departure of the St. Albert Saints for Spruce Grove, saying that as a high school principal he had witnessed students dreaming of playing for the team.[3] He was elected as one of six councillors from a field of twenty.

He was re-elected in the 2007 municipal election, but did not seek re-election in 2010.
