London Record Society
The London Record Society is a text publication society founded in 1964 whose objectives are to stimulate public interest in archives and similar historical material relating to London.[1] The current President of the society is the Lord Mayor of London.[2] The Society is a registered charity.
Activities
The society holds an annual public lecture about London archives and publishes transcripts, translations, abstracts and lists of primary sources relating to the history of London. The society usually publishes one major scholarly work per annum which is provided free to members. Typical recent publications have included:

Beginning with volume 46, the society's publications will be published by Boydell and Brewer from whom the society's back catalogue is also available.[2] Some of the society's back catalogue is also available at British History Online, a joint project of the Institute of Historical Research and the History of Parliament Trust,
Finances
The society's accounts are made up to 31 October annually. For the year ended 31 October 2009 the society had gross income of £10204 and expenditure of £6248. The society had surpluses in each of the previous three years too. The annual returns filed with the Charity Commission have been late in each of the last three years.[1]
