Lomatium californicum is a species of plant related to the carrot and the parsnip which is known by the common names California rock parsnip, celery weed, and California lomatium. This plant is native to California and Oregon, where it is found in low elevation mountains and hills.
Description
Lomatium californicum has blue-green leaves which resemble those of celery in both appearance and taste, and broad umbels of yellow flowers.
Various parts of the plant have historically had medicinal uses among Native American groups.
