Load rejection

Load rejection in electric power system is the condition in which there is a sudden load trip in the system which cause the generation side to be over-frequency.

A load rejection test is part of commissioning test for power system to see if the system can withstand the sudden loss of load and return to normal operating condition with its governor on the generation side and test its reliability.^[1] Load bank is normally used for the test.
