Lloyd Averall Letherby (August 27, 1900 - 1968) was a Canadian politician, who represented Simcoe East in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1954 to 1967[1] as a Progressive Conservative member.
Offices
Letherby was first elected in a by-election called to fill the vacancy created by the death of the PC MPP, John Duncan McPhee. Letherby served as a backbench member of a series of majority PC governments led by Premier's Leslie Frost and John Robarts. While he never served in Cabinet, Letherby served on an extensive list of Standing Committees of the Legislative Assembly, with membership of up to nine Committees, simultaneously. Letherby chose not to stand for re-election in the 1967 provincial general election and the riding was won by the PC candidate, Gordon Elsworth Smith.
