Liz María Solari Poggio (Spanish pronunciation: [lis soˈlaɾi]; born June 18, 1983) is a Colombian-born, Argentine actress and model.

Solari has acted in film and television, not only in Argentina, but also Italy and Spain. She has also impersonated the famous fashion doll, Barbie, in theatre.[4] As a model, she has worked with local brands, as well as European designers such as Roberto Cavalli and Jean-Paul Gaultier.[5]

Early life

Liz María Solari Poggio was born on June 18, 1983 in Barranquilla, Colombia. Eduardo Solari, her father, was working there as a coach for Junior de Barranquilla.[6] Her brothers Santiago Solari, Esteban Solari, David Solari (i.e., every brother except Martín Solari) are footballers.[6] She is also the niece of former player Jorge "El Indio" Solari and has been nicknamed "La Indiecita" because of that.[5]

When she was 3 years old, Solari moved to Rosario, Argentina.[5]

Career

In 2001, she won an international competition of the Dotto Models agency, owned by Pancho Dotto, which effectively launched her modeling career. She lent her face to brands such as Ripley, Kosiuko, Caro Cuore, Class Life, Lody, Falabella, Silenzio, Sweet, Di Poggio (a leather goods brand that she created with her brother), Calandra, O'Assian and Zara Spain. She was the ambassador of the hairdresser Cerini and was the face of commercials for Pantene and Veet.

In Europe, she worked for designers such as Roberto Cavalli and Jean-Paul Gaultier. She has also been on the front cover of numerous magazines, including Cosmopolitan, Elle, Para Ti, Women's Health, Luz, FTV, D-mode, Max, Seventeen, Ohlala! and Yvonne.

Solari participated Bailando por un Sueño 2007, Bailando por un Sueño 2007.

During the course of 2008 she starred in the play Barbie Live.[4]

Her film debut was in High School Musical: El Desafío, Argentina's spin-off of High School Musical.

From January 2009 to 2010 she starred in the TV series Champs 12.

In May 2010 she started the European promotional tour of Champs 12, and began attending acting classes in London at the Central School of Speech and Drama, the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and the Guildford School of Acting.

She started 2011 filming a movie in Italy, Ex – Amici come prima!, and when she finished started filming the comedy Famiglia Italiana.

The year 2012 Solari returned to Argentina to make the campaign SEDAL Pro Naturals, also the Winter campaign of Lody, and DI Poggio.

She also did covers for magazines and personal notes for Vanity, Para Ti, Luz, SH, SHOP Collections, HOLA, and other publishers.

In February 2012 he filmed under the direction of Adrián Caetano, a character in the movie Mala.
