Livefyre
Livefyre (pronounced live-fire) is a San Francisco-based technology company.
History
Livefyre was launched by Jordan Kretchmer and Henry Arlander in December 2009. It began as a commenting platform for bloggers.
In October 2011 Livefyre raised 4.5 million from Greycroft Partners and digital media investors Cue Ball, HillsVen Group, and ff Venture Capital.[1]
The company's commenting platform, Livefyre Comments 3, was launched in July 2012.
In February 2013 Livefyre raised 15 million in its series C funding, led by U.S. Venture Partners (USVP) and including all previous investors.[2]
In August 2013 Livefyre launched its Social Native Ad Solutions group.[3]
In November 2014, Livefyre launched their new, one-of-a-kind content marketing and engagement platform, Livefyre Studio. [4][5]
Livefyre now has offices in San Francisco, New York, London and Sydney, Livefyre was named one of the best places to work in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Business Times two years in a row and 2013 Corporate IT Software Company of the year by the World Technology Network.
Innovations
Livefyre has pioneered a number of features. Most recently Livefyre released their new platform, Livefyre Studio.
Other features by Livefyre are- Social Sync, which integrates comments from Facebook and Twitter in a comment stream; Comment Notifiers, a bubble in the comment stream that alerts the user to a new comment with a bubble featuring the user’s avatar and a preview of the comment; and Friend Tagging, which allows users to tag/mention friends and followers from Facebook and Twitter and have them be notified.[6]

Livefyre is headquartered in San Francisco, with additional offices in San Diego, New York City, London and Sydney.

Growth
In 2013, Livefyre was the 5th largest online network,[7] reaching more than 129 million people and delivering over 1 billion live content streams every month with 10 million registered users. As of July 2014 it had 150 employees.[8]
