Yang Liu (Chinese: 刘扬; pinyin: Liú Yáng) is a Chinese classical violinist.[1]
Born in Qingdao, China, Liu studied under Lin Yaoji at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, and studied with Dorothy DeLay and Kurt Sassmannshaus at the College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati. He was a medalist at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow in 2002.
He currently teaches at Roosevelt University and performs regularly at the Aspen Music Festival. The "Lady Tennant" Stradivarius violin has been permanently loaned to him. [2]
