Little Princesses
Little Princess Trust is a charity in the United Kingdom which supplies and funds high quality wigs made of real hair to children suffering hair loss as a result of cancer treatment.
The charity was originally set up in memory of five-year-old Hannah Tarplee, who died as a result of cancer in June 2005 by her parents Simon and Wendy Tarplee and her headmaster Tim Lowe. Hairdressers Peter and Tracey Prosser became involved in advising the charity at an early stage. The charity now has an office at Hereford Cathedral Junior School and supports children throughout the country. As of 2006, it had helped over 1000 children.
This charity is similar to the United States-based Wigs for Kids.
Hair loss is caused by the strong chemotherapy drugs which are used to treat most childhood cancers. The charity aims to provide the best wigs available.
The Little Princess Trust, as it is formally known, is a registered charity.
